March 3--Intro to unit 4 portfolio

Today's information. Introduced the portfolio assignment for unit 4. The question and approach are on slide 5 but is also copied below: 


I am not looking for a 5+ paragraph essay. Instead, do this:


Introduce what you think should be added to the overall high school curriculum that you study. Think in terms of subjects/subject matter that will be important for your future. This should be about a paragraph.


Give some details about what you would study in this subject. Give suggestions for texts and assignments that you would do. This is about a paragraph in length.


In the third and final paragraph, you show your reasoning for adding this subject by talking about how you could apply that learning in your future.


The slide show gives more detail about this assignment and what's coming up. Just know that the final portfolio will be due around spring break, so you have plenty of time. We will look at graduation requirements on Thursday to give some context to the assignment and then writing process next week.
